New healthy chocolate bar possible

An Australian company could be leading the world in the production of a new type of sugar with a low glycaemic index.

Developed by researchers at the Mossman mill in north Queensland, it could be the healthy option for people suffering with diabetes and heart conditions. The mill is also looking at starting cocoa production leading to the manufacture of a new healthy chocolate bar.

It is believed that it will be a world first in the production of the very first absolutely healthy chocolate in the world, and also the very first Australian chocolate.

Low glycaemic index products are recommended as a way of controlling diabetes and heart disease.
