Chocolate that laughs, it's no joke!

To be entirely pedantic it's actually an ingredient in the chocolate that will make you laugh, with bubbles of laughing gas bringing a smile to chocolate lovers.

Researchers at the University of Reading have been experimenting with adding gas bubbles to chocolate to produce a more intense, melt in the mouth flavour. These obviously chocolate loving men in white coats have found after experimenting with nitrous oxide (laughing gas), nitrogen, argon and carbon dioxide, that laughing gas produces the best results.

20 non-expert tasters were given the chance to try out the different versions and agreed that laughing gas aerated chocolate had the most intense cocoa flavour.

Of course there is already a chocolate bar on the market, Aero, that boasts chocolate filled with air bubbles. But there's always room in the market for more chocolate, and whoever produces this chocolate could be laughing all the way to the bank.
