Chocolate Sir Elton unveiled at Madame Tussauds

In conjunction with Cadbury's, Madame Tussauds has made a lifesize figure of Sir Elton John out of chocolate.

Over recent months the public have been given the opportunity to vote for their favourite celebrity to be turned into a chocolate sculpture. Initially Jonathon Ross appeared to be ahead in the poll, however at the final count Sir Elton pipped fellow singer Will Young for the honour.

The statue was crafted out of 227lbs of Cadbury's Dairy Milk, taking more than 1,000 hours to create in Sir Elton's exact measurements.

Sir Elton's partner David Furnish said at the grand unveiling "It certainly looks like him...They've captured his features and his spirit. I think Elton will be delighted."

The chocolate Sir Elton will be on display at Madame Tussauds until the autumn in a special air-conditioned tent to prevent it from melting.
