Green & Black's bought by Cadbury Schweppes

Green & Black's, the organic chocolate producer, has been bought by Cadbury Schweppes for an undisclosed sum estimated by newspapers to be in the region of £20 million.

Green & Black's is reported to be the UK's fastest growing confectionery brand, and it is hoped that the acquisition by Cadbury Schweppes will enable continued growth of the luxury organic chocolate brand and further its international expansion.

Cadbury Schweppes have confirmed that Green & Black's will continue to operate as a standalone business with Green & Black's Founder and President, Craig Sams, continuing with his current management team.

Craig Sams, President of Green & Black's said: "I am delighted that my vision for premium, high cocoa organic chocolate is entering the next stage of its successful evolution."

Green & Black's sales turnover during the previous financial year was ?22.4 million.
